New Podcast coming soon!
I just interviewed David Denyer, composer out of London, who lives near the Jubilee Line (anyone taken it? Anyone?). I could hear it over the phone rumbling by as we talked back and forth. As an ex-Chicagoan, the sound of any commuter train fills me with nostalgia.

Currently, I am interviewing the participants, actors and musicians of Helicon Storytelling. The company took the play The Battle of the Frogs and Mice to the Fringe Art Festival in Edinburgh. Is the ancient poem the Batrachomyomachia a good choice for children’s entertainment? Find out in a coming episode.

Mr. Denyer, a graduate of the Royal College of Music, has the best line in his bio that I have ever seen.Ready?“…takes any opportunity to fill dark rooms with unbearable loud and unsettling noises.”Well, when you are scoring ancient Greek Tragedies, maybe “loud and unsettling noises” are just the thing for tales of man versus “unknowable Godly powers.” However his music has been reviewed as, “…extremely well-crafted and beautifully orchestrated.” He has been recognized with numerous awards for his scoring of film and theater productions.
His work will be featured on the podcast spotlighting Helicon Storytelling. Look for his composition Sekilos to be provided as bonus material on this podcast site.
